Care and Storage Information
Bowron Lambskins are crafted with pride by the world’s largest lambskin tanning company. You will be able to enjoy your Bowron Lambskin for many years, provided you follow the care instructions attached to the lambskin and detailed below.

Your carefully selected Bowron Lambskin may have been tightly packaged for the journey home and so the wool may appear flattened. Wool fibres are very resilient and will bounce back to their original springy appearance.
A vigorous shake will also help restore the soft, fluffy appearance of the wool. Any fold marks from packaging will disappear once the skin has been removed from the package for several days.

Storage
Should you wish to store your lambskin at any time, place it in a cool airy place avoiding direct sunlight. Paper bags are suitable for storage of lambskins. Use of plastic bags is not recommended as the lambskin fibres will not be able to breathe and condensation may occur in warm conditions.

Washing
Bowron’s unique tanning process means your lambskin can be easily hand or machine washed. it is important not to use very hot water when washing lambskins as this may damage the pelt of the lambskin.

Hand Washing
Use a mild liquid household detergent in cold or warm water (max 400C). Do not use soap or washing powders containing enzymes or bleach . Do not use fabric softeners. Rinse thoroughly in warm water. Hand squeeze as much water from the lambskin as possible or spin in the washing machine.

Machine Washing
Use the ‘wool wash’ cycle on your washing machine and wash in warm water (max 400C). Use a mild liquid detergent suitable for washing machines. Bowron's Fleece Shampoo is recommended.
Do not use soap or washing powders containing enzymes or bleach.

Drying
The lambskin may be tumble dried on the ‘cool’ or ‘warm’ setting. Do not use ‘hot’ setting as excessive heat may damage the lambskin. Alternatively, hang the lambskin outside to dry naturally avoiding direct sunlight.

Take care not to place the lambskin on a radiator, steam pipe or in front of a fan heater as this may damage the lambskin. Do not iron or bleach the lambskin.

Grooming
After washing. the wool may revert back to its natural curly state. You can help restore the fluffy appearance by brushing the wool while it is wet and again when it is dry. A wire pet brush or comb is suitable.

The lambskin can also be drycleaned.
